Chapter 123 Underground Maze

Thor looked at these spirits whose movements were so uniform and strange, and their bare shoulders, and instantly recalled the arms that he saw on the cliffs before he entered the crypt.

The arms were calling for help outside, but the bodies were walking carefully and secretly underground.

If these spirits were the souls of the dead, Thor could not imagine what kind of horror they experienced when they died.

When he first heard Senior Byron tell about the tragedy of the Valley of the Hands, Thor thought that those wizards and apprentices should have been crushed to death, squeezed to death, or suffocated. Or they died fighting each other while fleeing.

But the truth is obviously not that simple.

There are a lot of white shadows, walking out of the middle passage in rows, and then mechanically walking into the left passage one by one.

There are too many.

If it weren’t for the slight differences in the size and appearance of each shadow, Thor would probably think that these shadows might be copies of a certain one.

Now the left and middle passages are full of these shadows, and only the right passage is clean.

Bill, who was standing at the front, observed for a while and did not feel any danger, so he whispered, “Byron, are there any evil spirits here?”

Bill could tell that the shadow in front of him was just a remnant of a broken spirit, not even a fragment of the soul.

But he was not sure whether this phenomenon meant that there were evil spirits nearby.

Byron called Thor, “Thor, let’s go and take a look.”

Thor followed Byron and walked through the passage that Bill and Wright had left.

They stopped three meters away from the fork in the road.

Thor took the lead in entering semi-immersive meditation.

In an instant, the human-shaped shadow without arms disappeared in front of him, and there were only pale and weak flames in the air.

Those flames, so weak that they seemed to be extinguished at any time, were jumping in the air at the rhythm of the shadows just now.

Silent and trembling.

Even though they had lost their human form, Thor could still feel a suffocating tension from their orderly jumping.

He carefully observed the three caves and withdrew from the meditative state.

“Hoo——”

His chest expanded twice violently, as if he had just recovered from suffocation.

“Did you find anything?” Wright asked in a low voice, relying on the airflow in his throat, when he saw Byron and Thor stop observing one after another.

Thor and Byron looked at each other, and they raised their hands in tacit understanding, pointing to the passage on the left.

Bill’s mouth twitched slightly, “Does this mean that we should walk side by side with those guys?”

Byron walked over directly and waved his hand among the white shadows.

Those shadows were not affected at all, and they still raised their legs high, lowered them gently, and walked carefully.

“At present, these remnants just look strange, and they have no ability to affect us at the moment.”

Wright touched his arm, “So I don’t like dealing with spirits. I never know if attacking them is a waste of my magic power.”

Bill said bluntly: “If you had carefully felt the mental fluctuations they emit, you wouldn’t be scared by a group of phantoms.”

“Ha, as if you weren’t nervous just now.”

“This time I’ll go in front.” Byron ignored the quarrel between the two, glanced at Thor, and motioned him to follow him closely.

“Okay,” Wright followed, “Now it’s your home court. When dealing with evil spirits later, I can only follow your instructions.”

As they spoke, the four of them joined the team of white phantoms one by one.

“In fact, there may not be evil spirits here.” Thor gave the two seniors a shot of vaccination, “Maybe the evil spirits have wandered here before and caused some pollution here.”

“I understand!” Wright had no airs, “When I went to catch sand eye worms, I often only picked up their dry feces.”

“There’s no need to give this example!” Bill wanted to raise his hand and knock on Wright’s head.

The group continued to move forward.

The white shadow that was walking parallel to them turned right at the next intersection and entered another cave.

“Another fork in the road.” Wright frowned, “I don’t like walking in a maze.”

“This is what it’s like underground in the Valley of the Hands.” Byron answered in a bored tone, concentrating on distinguishing the road ahead.

The group passed several more forks in the road, and this underground world was even larger than Thor had imagined.

And this was only the periphery of the Valley of the Hands.

“There’s movement.” Byron suddenly stopped.

At this time, everyone had just stepped into a wider space, where there were eight forks in the road, up and down, left and right.

“Why are there so many holes? I feel like I can’t remember the route I came from.” Wright covered his face with his hands.

His thin face looked as pale as a dead person under the dim light of the glimmer.

Bill was also obviously impatient.

“I don’t think it’s reliable to find evil spirits by pollution. That’s just the traces they left, and they may not be here.” He pointed to the passage leading to the underground, “I think we should continue to go down.”

After saying that, Bill walked over there, and it seemed that he didn’t intend to discuss it with anyone.

But Thor looked over and felt something strange, “Wait a minute!”

He had just said half of his words when Bill jumped down the passage.

Bill’s body fell into the air, and the passage on the ground suddenly began to close.

Bill was about to be cut in half, but he was not surprised but happy.

A lot of purple foam suddenly appeared on his hands and feet. The foam looked soft, but it could hold up the shrinking tunnel.

Then Bill pressed his hands on the edge of the tunnel and jumped up, leaving a pile of foam stuck at the entrance of the cave while he jumped into the air.

Thor was not free to watch others fight.

After the first cave suddenly shrank and bit people, a cave on Thor’s left suddenly moved towards him.

The mountain shrank, like a huge suction cup, trying to suck Thor in.

Thor immediately felt a strong suction.

He raised his leg and stepped on the lower edge of the side wall. Against the suction, he threw out a blow to hit the undead.

The cave suddenly shrank twice, but unfortunately the attack was not ideal.

But Thor’s attack just now was just to buy himself time.

He immediately released the archery technique.

The sharp arrow gained greater kinetic energy along with the suction of the cave entrance, and almost instantly drilled into the cave entrance.

This time, the hole trembled violently and spit out a stream of green mucus.

But then, it suddenly expanded, and in an instant, it expanded from a small hole with a diameter of less than one meter to nearly two meters, and the suction force increased again.

This time, Thor had no place to stabilize his body, and he was almost about to fall into the cave that was larger than his whole body.

Suddenly, a spike suddenly protruded from Thor’s feet and pierced directly into the mountain above his head.

Thor hugged the spike to prevent himself from being sucked in.

But his feet were difficult to stand due to the huge suction force, and he floated in the air. He could only rely on one arm to hold the spike tightly.

Thor’s other hand was not idle either. After quickly reciting the spell, translucent termites began to appear on his arm.

Thor casually threw it, and several termites were sucked into the cave.

The reason why he chose soul termites as his first level 1 witchcraft was because it was a rare witchcraft among low-level witchcraft that could attack both the body and the soul at the same time.

Although it was not the kind of witchcraft that caused instant death, it had a very comprehensive attack surface.

After a few seconds, the hole shrank again, and the suction force decreased greatly.

Thor’s feet finally fell back to the ground.

A novel is a mirror walking along a main road. Stories are the way we make sense of the chaos of existence.
