Diary of a Dead Wizard - Chapter 28
Chapter 28: Endless Learning, Endless Work
If a composite rune is just the overlapping projections of two different runes, there will be countless solutions. Fortunately, Thor reread the “Introduction to Rune Construction” and found the basic conditions that he had not noticed before.
With these conditions, he finally determined the three-dimensional structure of the composite rune. The
planes where the two runes are located overlap in the three-dimensional space. Their sizes are equal, so the magic power distributed should actually be even.
If the magic power of the two runes is really distributed according to the size ratio seen by the n*ked eye, it is doomed to fail.
Thor held up the three-dimensional stereogram he had just drawn with both hands, closed his eyes and began to draw in the mental space.
About an hour later, he suddenly opened his eyes, his face full of excitement.
“Ouch! I succeeded!”
Then a feeling of fatigue made Thor almost collapse to the ground.
The construction of a composite rune actually consumed all his magic power?
Then how can he release the 0-level witchcraft?
Thor panicked. Could it be that his magic talent could not even support the simplest witchcraft?
“Calm down, calm down. This is my first time constructing a compound rune. Maybe a lot of magic power was not used in the right way and was wasted.”
Unfortunately, his magic power was exhausted now. He could not try to construct it again immediately. He could only take out the crystal ball and start meditating.
“Chi!”
The candlelight was bright, awakening Thor from meditation.
He looked sideways, “Someone is alive.”
It was painful to have his studies interrupted, but who made this job the cornerstone of his changing his destiny?
The conveyor belt hummed, and new corpses appeared in front of Thor through the tassels.
In order to relieve fear and pressure, Thor chose to call these corpses guests, just like going home alone late at night, always wanting to hum a song.
“Well, this guest died a bit tragically.”
Rather than calling it a corpse, it was more like a pool of minced meat, with bone residue mixed in the minced meat and internal organs.
There was also a large piece of leather with four sides raised to hold it, otherwise it would flow out.
Thor chose a clamp from the tools behind him.
He looked around and saw that the minced meat was densely covered with small flashes. They were very faint, and it was obvious that they were not valuable, so it didn’t matter if they were thrown away.
Thor endured the discomfort and leaned over to carefully pick them up.
However, to his surprise, those flashing fragments were not fragments of the body, but some tiny powders.
Thor changed to a small pair of tweezers and picked out a few slightly larger pieces of white powder.
In the flesh and blood, they still maintained their original color and were not stained red.
He spent time collecting a small handful, and his waist was sore.
Thor kept a little, and wrapped the rest in brown paper and put it in a small box on the long table behind him.
Thor used his hands to grab the leather below and poured all the remaining parts of the body into the large box at the bottom and closed the lid.
The box seemed to have the effect of isolating odors, and the bloody smell in the room immediately dropped a few degrees.
The candlelight on the portal was still bright.
There was still work.
Thor pulled down the wrench and watched the conveyor belt bring him the next guest.
The guest was a little girl who looked no more than five or six years old.
Thor tilted his head, feeling a little reluctant.
How could there be such a young girl in the wizard tower?
He had never heard of any wizard getting married and having children here.
Unfortunately, death is always fair to everyone and will not let anyone go just because people can’t bear it.
Thor let out a long breath, straightened his head and attitude, and continued to observe the corpse using a semi-immersive meditation method.
“No, she is not a little girl.”
After careful observation, Thor made other discoveries.
“The teeth and bones don’t look like a child’s.”
Fortunately, Thor had some knowledge from the book “Corpse”, which gave him some ability to distinguish.
“It should be an apprentice. Because of the influence of some witchcraft, her appearance has become that of a child, but her internal organs and bones are still those of an adult.”
Although he knew that it was a bit unfair to the woman in front of him, Thor’s tightened heart still felt a little relaxed.
He quickly processed it and sent the remaining parts into the large box below.
The light on the portal was still bright.
“Well, there’s still work to do…”
The third guest must have been through a battle, with many marks of knife and axe hacking on his body, and his head was pierced, and the black conveyor belt underneath could be seen.
After finishing the work, Thor looked up.
The lights were still on.
How come there is more?
He suddenly looked up at the time. It was already half past six.
Half an hour was not enough for him to carefully examine the whole body.
However, the amount of materials he submitted today was enough, so he could just deal with the last customer casually.
The last customer appeared with the rumbling sound of the conveyor belt.
It was a plump woman.
She might have died from some kind of curse, and her body was covered with dense cracks.
But there was no blood flowing out of the cracks.
Sol used meditation to see, and actually saw countless translucent tongues sticking out from the cracks.
These tongues turned around like little birds waiting to be fed by their mother bird, shaking their soft tongues towards Sol.
Sol stretched out the tweezers, and those tongues also turned around, as if waiting to be fed. Sol got goose
bumps all over his body.
No matter what those tongues were, he didn’t want to touch them with his hands.
Moreover, the body in front of him was very complete, and it seemed that the apprentices in charge of the first two processes didn’t touch her much.
Sol turned around, ready to change to a long clamp, but saw the little white crystal he had densely pressed.
He picked one up with tweezers and moved it over the crack of the female corpse again.
This time, the transparent little tongue near the tweezers actually retracted into the crack, as if it was afraid of the crystals.
Moreover, when the translucent tongue retracted into the crack, a flash of light appeared from the crack.
“This crystal… can it have the power to expel the weird?”
Thor retracted the tweezers, and the tongue ran out again.
Thor simply threw the small crystal that was not even as big as a grain of rice into the crack.
“Chi!”
With a faint burning sound, a green smoke came out of the crack.
Thor hurriedly stepped back two steps and held his breath.
Fortunately, the smoke dissipated quickly, and the hardcover book did not react.
He waited for a while, returned to the body, cut open the crack where the tongue was no longer, and searched for a while.
The original small crystal had been completely powdered, and it seemed useless.
Thor picked out a small tumor at the flashing point.
“If you use crystals to destroy a tongue, you can get a tumor. Of course, I would choose… crystals!”
Thor turned around and opened the box where he had just stored the crystals. When he closed the lid, the small package of crystals in the box turned into a small, lonely tumor.
The candlelight on the teleportation platform finally dimmed.
Thor packed up his things and looked up. It was already 7:30.
Don’t stay in the East Tower after 8 o’clock.
He quickly grabbed the books and papers on the table and rushed out of the morgue.
“Huh?”
A figure blocked Thor’s way and the two almost collided.
However, the person in front took a step back in advance, leaving Thor empty-handed.
“Sorry!” Thor apologized and wanted to leave immediately, but after taking two steps, he stopped and looked back.
“Are you the senior in charge of the first morgue?”
The person Thor almost bumped into came from the depths of the corridor.
His hair was gray, but his skin didn’t have any wrinkles.
His eyelids were drooping, and he looked like he was half asleep and half awake.
“Hmm.” The other person seemed to have a good temper, or he had no desire to interact with people. He hummed and was about to walk past Thor.
“Hmm?”
The listless second-level apprentice glanced at the blueprint in Thor’s hand as he passed by.
“Hmm…”
He pointed his index finger at Thor’s right hand.
Thor looked down and saw what he was holding in his palm – a three-dimensional coordinate composite rune diagram.
