Diary of a Dead Wizard - Chapter 6
Chapter 6: First Level Wizard Apprentice
“Save me, save me, save me… Kill me!!!”
“Huh!”
Thor opened his eyes and sat up suddenly.
“My lord, are you awake?” A boy quickly got up from the ground and came to Thor.
“George?” Thor recognized that the other party was the boy sleeping on his right.
In that big bunk bed, only George was friendly to Thor.
Thor had just crossed over and only had sporadic memories of the original owner. Many things about the wizard tower were told to him by George in secret.
But George never dared to talk to Thor in front of others because he was afraid of being bullied by other boys.
Now, George showed a flattering smile and held up a bowl of soup.
“My lord, are you hungry? I will serve you a meal?”
Thor pushed the soup away.
“No, I’m not hungry. What time is it now? How long have I been unconscious?”
“My lord, you have been unconscious for about an hour. It is eight o’clock in the morning… a little after eight o’clock.” George looked back at the hourglass clock on the wall and barely understood the time.
Thor followed George’s line of sight and realized that he was in a single bedroom.
A 1.5-meter-wide wooden bed, two long desks, two high-backed chairs, and an empty bookcase that took up an entire wall were all the large furnishings in the room.
There was also a blue hourglass hanging on the wall.
There were scales on the hourglass, and the sand was just below the eight o’clock mark at this moment.
“Is this… the wizard apprentice’s room? Did I pass the test?” Thor felt a warm current rising from the bottom of his heart, slowly spreading throughout his body.
Excited, thrilled, and surviving a disaster, he showed a silly smile.
“Hehehe…” Seeing Thor laughing, George quickly followed, “Congratulations, sir!”
Thor realized his loss of composure, quickly restrained his expression, and coughed twice.
“George, why are you here?”
George knelt down on the ground and looked up and said, “My lord, the butler asked me to take care of you.”
It turned out that after Thor fainted, the butler sent him to an empty room on the sixth floor and asked George, who volunteered to take care of him until he woke up.
After hearing George’s words, Thor fell into deep thought.
“Since I was sent to the wizard apprentice’s room, my identity should have been recognized. But if nothing unexpected happens, my magic talent is still very low. If I can’t find a way to improve it, I’m afraid I will only be a first-level wizard apprentice for the rest of my life.”
Because he fainted and avoided the magic test, Thor didn’t know what his magic talent was.
He had to find time to secretly test it.
The excitement of becoming a wizard apprentice and the worry about the hardships ahead made Thor’s heart very entangled.
After a while, he exhaled and noticed that George was still kneeling on the ground, staring at him eagerly.
“Uh, George, get up.”
“Sir!” George saw Thor come back to his senses, and then dared to speak, “Sir, please let me be your exclusive servant!”
“Exclusive servant?” Thor had no memory of this.
George carefully glanced at Thor’s left hand, and then quickly retracted his gaze.
“Yes, sir, I have seen other wizard apprentices designate servants to serve their daily lives. Sir, accept me, and I will definitely serve you well.”
Seeing that Thor was a little hesitant, George knelt to the bedside and lowered his voice, “Sir, I can be your spy and help you keep an eye on Brown.”
Brown? The boy who has been bullying him?
“Sir, I found that Brown was found out twice after you woke up from your injury. After that, he became more arrogant than before, and deliberately let everyone unite against you, and gave the job of cleaning the corridor in the early morning, which was originally rotated, to you alone.”
Thor’s pupils shrank suddenly.
So, the group of boys did not simply bully him, but someone instructed them?
His left hand hidden in his sleeve slowly clenched.
Someone wants me dead!
Seeing this, George knew that his information was very useful to Sol, and quickly continued, “My lord, I can help you find out who is behind Brown.”
Sol did not hesitate and shook his head to refuse George.
“No, don’t do anything.” Sol paused for a moment and said, “You just need to pay attention to Brown’s actions every day, but don’t take the initiative to track him down. As for the matter of exclusive servants, I will ask the butler when I am stable here.”
George was a little disappointed, but he quickly cheered up. He knelt straight and said, “I understand, my lord! If you need me, you can summon me at any time. George is willing to sacrifice his life for you!”
But the twelve-year-old boy was full of loyalty and enthusiasm.
Sol would not take such empty words to heart. He waved his hand to let George get up, and asked him again, “Do you know what to do after becoming an apprentice?”
This time George shook his head blankly.
Yes, George was called here later, and he couldn’t be expected to know everything.
Sol didn’t want George to be too conspicuous, so he asked him to go back first, and he walked around the house to see if he could find some useful information.
The wizard apprentice test, after all, he fainted, and he might have missed a lot of information.
The room where Thor was was just a small single room, which was nothing like Kongsha’s. Except for basic daily necessities, other places were empty.
Thor found a blank book and a water-absorbing pen under the long table.
This meant that learning was allowed.
He held the two things in his arms, pursed his lips and began to smile again.
The precarious life of a servant was finally over.
He no longer had to worry about how he would die every day. A
bright future seemed to be within reach.
He knew that he was not talented, and he was lucky to be alive and become a first-level apprentice.
“It doesn’t matter if I can’t advance, I am willing to stay at the next level until I die.”
“Knock knock!”
Someone knocked on the door.
Thor adjusted his expression and hurried over to open the door.
He had seen the person outside the door before him, one of the two people who took the test before him.
It was a freckled girl with pigtails, wearing a simple blue dress and a hard cloth shoulder bag on her back.
“I saw your servants leave, and I thought you woke up, so I came to say hello.” The freckled girl spoke without any expression, her head moving with the sound, “My name is Keli, and I live in room 603 next to you.”
Taking the initiative to say hello should be a warm gesture, but Keli’s expression was a little too cold.
“Hello, my name is Sol.”
Keli looked at the book and pen in Sol’s arms and nodded slightly in approval, “I came to see you, first because you have a good talent for mental power, and I have a good talent for magic, and excellent people should be parallel to excellent people.”
Sol twitched his mouth.
“Second, because you are the only one of the few people who passed the test and survived.”
After hearing Keli’s words, Sol’s heart sank.
Sure enough, all the servants who failed the test died.
So if the talent is not enough, the opportunity will also turn into a disaster.
“I see that your clothes are the same as those of the servants in the tower, so I guess you are all servants who took the test. Since you can go from a servant to an apprentice, your willpower must be good.”
Although Keli was praising people, Sol didn’t know why he didn’t feel happy.
“That’s why I want to befriend you.”
Thor wanted to ask, “Why should I befriend you?”
But he held back.
