Chapter 76 It’s Cool

“It turns out that I have a good eye. No matter what your magic talent is, your high mental power is enough to make you competent for many basic tasks.” Nick praised himself without any complacency.

“Yes, Senior Nick has a good eye.” Thor thought, “It was also he who saw at a glance that I was best at light element perception, and it was not filled in casually.”

“So now we have reached a consensus, can we cooperate well?” Nick spread his hands and faced Thor.

Thor responded quickly, “I will do my best to cooperate with Senior.”

Nick nodded slightly, still without any expression, as if he was born without facial expression.

“It’s a bit of a delay, let’s start the experiment directly, and explain while doing it, number one come in!” Nick put on the earmuffs, raised his voice slightly, and shouted in the direction of the door.

Thor turned around and saw the door of the laboratory being pushed open, and a blonde, blue-eyed, expressionless female second-level apprentice walked in.

It was one of the people Thor had seen in Rum’s room before, and he didn’t know when she was waiting outside the door.

The female apprentice walked in and stood opposite the operating table, facing Senior Nick.

Both of them had no expression, or emotion.

Saul’s eyes swirled between the two, wondering if the two had any relationship.

“Don’t look at me.” Senior Nick gestured to the woman, but he was still talking to Saul, “My situation is different from her and theirs.”

Nick asked the wooden and beautiful female apprentice to sit on the high-backed metal chair opposite.

When the slender female apprentice sat on the metal chair, the metal chair immediately began to deform.

The tall back of the chair sank, and two iron rings extended from the back of the chair, locking the neck and waist of the female apprentice.

The two armrests were retracted inward, just enough to support the female apprentice’s drooping arms and lock the elbows and wrists.

The chair legs also extended metal rings to buckle the ankles and knees.

No matter how you look at it, it looks like a punishment.

Nick asked Saul to follow and walked forward to teach him how to use this metal chair.

Behind and below the chair, there were ropes hanging like wires, and the tips of the ropes were very thin, like embroidery needles.

After the female apprentice sat down, Nick walked over and inserted the tips of the ropes into her cheeks, wrists, ankles and other places.

The ropes looked heavy, and the tips only penetrated the skin a few millimeters deep. But when Nick let go, the ropes did not fall down due to gravity, but remained in their original positions as if they had consciousness.

While remembering the operation method, Sol was thinking about when to talk to Nick about solving the problem of the vengeful spirit.

The work started unexpectedly, and he didn’t have time to say it.

The female apprentice had a blank expression and no reaction throughout the whole process.

Sol felt that even if Nick did something more terrible at this time, the female apprentice would not resist at all.

After they finished working up and down, the two returned to the back of the operating table.

Nick took out a disc made of the same material as the metal chair.

Sol stretched his neck and leaned over to take a look.

The disc was divided into four areas by a cross, and each area was divided into small grids of different shapes and numbers.

“This is called an inductive chair, and this is the corresponding control panel.” Nick began to introduce. “The principle of the control panel is relatively complicated and not public knowledge. You don’t need to worry about it. You just need to remember where each sensor rope is tied.”

After making sure that Thor remembered the previous steps, Nick took out a pen and paper and asked Thor to sit next to him.

“Usually, I mainly record the emotional changes of the experimental subjects to perceive their feedback on the stimulation of the inductive chair. In a while, you will use your method to record the performance of the experimental subjects.”

Nick gently tossed the disc in his hand and put it down. Suddenly, a blue electric light lit up from the inside of the entire control panel, flashing across the entire disc, and finally returning to silence.

Thor’s left fingertips unconsciously retracted into his sleeve.

Electricity, the nemesis of plastic bones.

“Actually, I’m quite curious why the instructor sent you here to record the reactions of the experimental subjects. Have you awakened some strange talent?”

Nick said curiously, but his eyes did not move at all, as if he was being polite.

Without waiting for Thor’s response, Nick pressed the control panel, “Start.”

As Nick pressed the button, different positions of the control panel began to flash.

Correspondingly, electric currents were transmitted along the ropes of the electric chair to the female apprentice, and a faint smell of burning immediately came out of the female apprentice.

The female apprentice immediately frowned and showed a painful expression. She wanted to arch her back, but she could not move because of the restraints of several iron rings.

Thor first observed it with his n*ked eyes and found nothing special.

It was as if the female apprentice was just electrocuted.

Then, he entered a semi-immersed meditative state.

When Thor’s eyes fell on the female apprentice again, he was shocked to find that a translucent, gray-white man’s face appeared on the female apprentice’s face!

The man narrowed his eyes slightly, raised the corners of his mouth, and looked very happy.

This face was very similar to the human face formed by the rune array on the female apprentice’s back.

“I feel that No. 1 is currently in a happy mood. Do you have any findings?” Nick did not look at the painful expression of the female apprentice, but stared at the control panel and said.

Thor stared at the transparent man’s face on the female apprentice’s face.

“It feels good.”

Nick was stunned and turned to look at Thor, “Your words are a bit strange, can you describe it in more detail?”

“It’s just very comfortable and relaxing.”

Nick heard this and looked down at the control panel in his hand and pondered.

After a moment, he suddenly threw the control panel on the table, bent over the table and began to write and draw.

The female apprentice on the inductive chair was in so much pain that her facial expression began to distort, and a trace of saliva fell from the corner of

her mouth. The man on her face began to roll his eyes.

“Senior Nick, why don’t you turn off the inductive chair first?”

Nick came back to his senses and found the pain of the female apprentice, but he did not turn off the control panel, but changed a way of stimulation.

Then, another silver arc moved on the rope.

The pain on the female apprentice’s face disappeared in an instant, her whole body softened, leaned back on the chair, and breathed a sigh of relief.

But in Thor’s eyes, the translucent man’s face gradually became painful.

His pain was not like being electrocuted, but more like suffocation.

He kept opening his mouth and trying hard to breathe, but forgot that he didn’t need to breathe.

Thor stared at two different faces at the same time, and felt that the man on the female apprentice was probably also a spirit.

A spirit attached to the female apprentice.

“I felt pain and fatigue this time. What about you?” After observing for a while, senior Nick beside him asked again.

“Suffocation,” Thor said truthfully, “like a fish thrown on the shore.”

Nick was thoughtful. This time he didn’t rush to record, but turned off the control panel and the induction chair.

“From your perspective, it is indeed clearer than my single emotional identification.” Nick continued his notes.

Thor turned his head to look and found a lot of incomprehensible identification symbols.

Seeing Nick writing and drawing with great concentration, Sol said as he watched, “Senior Nick is actually more accurate than me in sensing emotions. The performance of the experimental subjects plus my subjective interpretation can easily lead to errors in information transmission.”

After Nick finished writing the last stroke, he turned his head to look at Sol, “You don’t look like a twelve-year-old child.”
