Beastmaster of the Ages - Chapter 7916

Chapter 7832: The Star Palace

Wang Xuanqing then paced to the edge of the platform, a position almost overlooking everyone. She spoke with a stern and authoritative tone:

“It’s a good thing to have talented new blood joining us. On behalf of the Great Wall of Hercules, I welcome you. However, I must make this clear first: the Great Wall of Hercules is not a place for nepotism to gild one’s resume. If any of you harbor unrealistic fantasies about rising through connections, then wake up! Go back where you belong. We don’t welcome those kinds of people here.”

“Commander Xuanqing, please be frank. How do we get promoted?”

“Since we’ve chosen this path, there’s no reason for us to back down.”

“We also know that the Great Wall of Hercules is a behemoth. Even if we had a thousand times the guts to take shortcuts, there are no shortcuts. We don’t have that kind of power.”

Some voices rang out from the new recruits in the same batch as Li Tianming.

Upon hearing this, Wang Xuanqing chuckled and said, “It’s very simple: military merit and combat strength. This is the most direct method and the hard standard. If you don’t meet the requirements, you absolutely have no chance of promotion. To be honest, my family background is quite good. Many of my elders hold high military ranks and are very powerful. But you can go out and ask around how I rose to my current position at Fengxiao.” As soon as

she finished speaking, no one questioned her. On the contrary, the older soldiers stepped forward to vouch for her.

“I know that. Xuanqing Fengxiao also started as a soldier and rose step by step!”

“Whether it was the independent promotion system when she was a soldier or later after becoming a member of the Great Wall Immortal Army, she worked very hard and was very capable, advancing like a whirlwind.”

“In fact, because of the shackles of her family background, in order not to be criticized, she had to be ten times more amazing than ordinary people to get promoted! This was required by her elders.”

The soldiers around Li Tianming instantly dispelled any doubts they had.

“Commander Xuan Qingfeng truly sets a good example!”

“We admire him!”

“I will definitely follow in Commander Xuan Qingfeng’s footsteps and work even harder!”

Many people set an example, their eyes changing, their initial simple respect for Commander Xuan Qingfeng now filled with admiration.

Li Tianming was also a little surprised, not expecting the other party’s past experiences to be so formidable.

“Having heard all this, you must now have a clear understanding of the system of the Great Wall of Martial Immortals.” Wang Xuanqing exhaled, his voice cold and authoritative. “In short, here, whether you’re a dragon or a tiger, you must lie low. Everything must be done according to military law and regulations. You must be present when it’s time for training, and you must respond promptly to orders. These are the most basic requirements for you.” “Commander

Xuan Qingfeng, we understand all of this, but I still have a question.” Sen Xia’an raised his hand. “

Speak.” Wang Xuanqing said calmly.

“I know that you can only go to the battlefield after becoming a member of the Great Wall Immortal Army, but military rank is promoted through military merit. How can we upgrade our status from a soldier to an immortal soldier without going to the battlefield?” Sen Xia’an asked.

“This is something I’m about to explain to you. While Martial Soldiers don’t actually fight or earn military merit, they do have ‘Martial Achievements’,” Wang Xuanqing said, his gaze slightly narrowed.

“What are Martial Achievements?” someone asked, puzzled.

“Martial Achievements come from your accumulated training. They’re awarded by the patrol officers and beacon commanders in charge of you, given scores in each training cycle. Reaching one hundred points allows you to become a Celestial Army soldier, leave the recruit town, and truly become a member of the Martial Immortal Northern Crown Great Wall,” Wang Xuanqing said coldly.

“One hundred points in Martial Achievements!”

“That’s our current goal!”

“But… it sounds so far away!”

The crowd couldn’t help but murmur amongst themselves.

The other Martial Soldiers around them laughed.

“You’re still very young. Even geniuses don’t rise to that level overnight.”

“Many of us have been Martial Soldiers for a long time. You’re only ten thousand years old, and you dare to set such high goals?”

Of course, some older Martial Soldiers offered encouragement.

“Set your goals first, then act!”

“Youth represents youthful vigor and limitless possibilities!”

“With good luck, some of you might even become members of the Great Wall Immortal Army before us.”

Among this group of geniuses are figures like Li Tianming and Hun Qing, so this possibility certainly exists.

Wang Xuanqing returned from the edge of the platform to her original seat, now standing.

She wore military armor with a silver beacon emblem on her left shoulder, her tall figure exuding a powerful and agile presence.

Her gaze swept over the thirty patrol officers before her, finally settling on one of the elderly men.

This old man was very aged, somewhat thin, but his spine was straight, and his eyes were bright and piercing.

“Patrol Officer Zhao, is it alright if I entrust this batch of new recruits to your command?” Wang Xuanqing asked.

“Hehe… Commander Xuanqing is joking. Why do you need to ask my opinion on such matters? You can arrange it directly,” Patrol Officer Zhao said with a smile.

At this moment, the thousands of soldiers below the platform were somewhat agitated.

“It’s Zhao Muyang, the old patrol captain!”

“Among these patrol captains, he should be the most senior, right?”

“During his time as patrol captain, he trained many outstanding talents, making a great contribution to the Great Wall of the Martial Immortal’s Crown.”

“It’s just that his strength is limited, so he can only stay in the position of patrol captain. Otherwise, with his high prestige, good reputation, and many contributions, he should have been promoted to a higher military rank long ago!”

Li Tianming and the others roughly understood this person from the reactions of the people around them.

He patted a soldier next to him and asked familiarly, “Brother, can you tell me, is it a good thing or a bad thing for us to work under him?”

The man turned to look at Li Tianming and didn’t hold back his words. He said, “Not good, but not bad either.”

“How so?” Li Tianming asked humbly.

“He’s a bit old-fashioned and notoriously strict. If you’re the kind of person who completely follows the rules, you’ll be quite comfortable under him. However, who dares to say they can completely avoid crossing the line amidst all the regulations? Some things that seem trivial are big deals in his eyes! Many people find him annoying, but many others have risen to high positions, thanks to his strictness,”

the soldier continued.

“Understood, thank you, brother,” Li Tianming said.

“It’s nothing,” the man laughed.

On the platform, Wang Xuanqing said, “Inspector Zhao, you should first establish the rules for these new recruits. I’ve basically said everything I needed to say.”

“Alright, then this old man won’t stand on ceremony,” Zhao Muyang nodded.

He stepped forward, standing in front of the group of inspectors, his gaze directly locking onto Li Tianming and the other young faces.

He spoke in a clear, resonant voice:

“I have dedicated most of my life to the Great Wall of the Martial Immortal North Corona, leading countless soldiers, many of whom have become members of the Great Wall Immortal Army.”

“In my youth, I too fought bravely on the battlefield. Now, having spent most of my life in the military, I have seen tens of thousands of battles.”

“In truth, potential

is of no importance.” “As a soldier, the most important thing is to follow the rules and do your best.”

“Therefore, once you come to the Great Wall of the Martial Immortal North Corona, there are no top scholars or runners-up. If your character and attitude are lacking, I will not award you any merit.” “

Finally, I hope you can adapt to this environment and make the most of your talents!”

The crowd listened quietly, and as his words fell, cheers erupted.

“Good!”

“We will follow Zhao Xunwei’s words.”

“We will not let you down!”

Most of the new recruits expressed their sincere admiration.

They all understood that Zhao Muyang was indeed an impartial and incorruptible person.

At the same time, he was the kind of person who would never let his subordinates off lightly if they made mistakes, and he would stand up against any favoritism or corruption.

In short, he was absolutely disciplined.

From then on, Li Tianming and the others also came under Zhao Muyang’s command, and Zhao Muyang essentially became their guide.

In the true military hierarchy, the Great Wall Immortal Army was only considered lower-ranking than these military personnel; they weren’t even considered regular soldiers.

Right now, they were being trained by Wang Xuanqing and a group of patrol officers, nothing more.

However, at this moment, some of the regular soldiers were whispering among themselves.

“While it’s admirable that these new recruits gave up promising futures to come to the Great Wall of the Martial Immortal Northern Crown, can they really adapt to their current status, which is barely even considered a basic rank, and the tedious training?”

“Since they made this choice, there shouldn’t be any problems, right?”

“Hard to say. They say they’re geniuses selected from the outer regions by the Ten Thousand Sects Imperial War, but who doesn’t know the truth? They’re just a bunch of princes and princesses from the inner regions.”

“People of this status are naturally pampered; it’s normal that they can’t adapt.”

Doubts arose among the other soldiers; everyone wanted to see how Li Tianming and the others would perform.

After these explanations, the grand assembly of thousands finally came to a close.

Next, under Zhao Muyang’s leadership, Li Tianming and the others began their training!

The training consisted mainly of marching, forming formations, and obeying commands.

These basic elements weren’t too difficult for Li Tianming, who had participated in the Imperial Heaven Project, or the other princes and princesses.

A year passed.

The training concluded successfully.

Li Tianming and the other new recruits selected from the Ten Thousand Sects Imperial War each received a ‘martial achievement’.

These achievements will be recorded on the Martial Immortal Army Badge as proof of accumulation.

“Only one point a year? How long will it take to accumulate that much?” Sen Xia’an felt it was an endless wait.

She couldn’t wait to ride the Dao Plant Army on the battlefield.

The Xuanqing Training Ground was vast, and everyone’s training took place there.

After training finally ended, Wang Xuanqing stood on the highest platform and clapped his hands, drawing the attention of the resting group.

“This training session is temporarily over. Next, I suggest you go to the ‘Star Palace Hall’ to cultivate. After all, the realm of a cosmic cultivator is fundamental; formation and personal cultivation cannot be neglected!”
